[texhax] Compatibility problem with newtxtext package

As others have said you could install the older fonts but that may not
help if you submit the paper and it formats to a page longer at their
site.
The metrics will not have changed much so if you have the old page
breaks in site you should easily tip tex's choices into following
choices closer matching the old line and page breaks, here for example
is your test file after asking tex to make it one line shorter

\usepackage[margin=2.5cm,noheadfoot]{geometry}
\usepackage{newtxtext}
\begin{document}
\looseness=-1
\large \noindent aesthetic misfit, due to a fundamental theological
